You plan to sell in a country you have not sold in before.

Know what a new market requires. Before your first shipment.

Moving into Canada, the US, the EU or the UK means more than translating an SDS. Each market has its own classification rules, supplier duties, notifications and deadlines. We map what applies to your products and give you a plan to meet it.

The problem

What usually goes wrong and what it costs you.

01

Rules beyond the SDS

Some markets require notifications, such as EU poison centre notification for hazardous mixtures or Health Canada cosmetic notification.

A compliant SDS is only part of market entry.

02

Different classifications

Environmental hazard classes are part of the EU and UK rules but not of WHMIS, and OSHA does not cover them. The same product can be classified differently in each market.

One SDS rarely fits every market.

03

A local company on the documents

Each market expects its own supplier on the SDS and label: a Canadian manufacturer or importer, a U.S. responsible party, or a company established in the EU or Great Britain.

Someone in the new market takes on the supplier duties.

Common questions

How long does a gap assessment take?

It depends on the number of products and markets. The scope, fee and timeline are set out in the written quote.

Do you handle notifications and registrations?

The gap assessment lists each one that applies, who must file it and the information it needs, so nothing is missed at launch.

Which markets do you cover?

Canada, the United States, the European Union and the United Kingdom.
