Reviewed and signed off by a specialist

Every SDS in your library is checked by a regulatory specialist, not just filed: the right product, the right supplier, both languages, and in date for your province.

What's included

Everything the SDS library service covers.

Product inventory

We build the list of hazardous products on site from your purchase records, product photos or a short video walk-through.

SDS collection

We obtain the current SDS for each product from the supplier or manufacturer, in English and French, and track every request.

Specialist check

Each SDS is checked: the right product, a Canadian supplier named, all 16 sections, both languages, and in date under your province's rules.

An organized library

An online library in your secure Hazline client portal, an indexed binder for the wall, and a poster with a code workers can scan to open any SDS.

Workplace labels

Label templates and guidance for decanted and workplace-made products, matched to each SDS.

Kept current

New products added, supplier updates swapped in and 3-year checks done where required, with a short status report every year.

Deliverables

An index you can trust, and SDSs workers can open in seconds.

The index shows the date, languages and status of every SDS on site. The poster sends workers to your library in the client portal, where they sign in with a one-time code, with the paper binder as the backup.

How it works

From first email to final file.

  1. Product list

You send purchase records, product photos or a short video of your storage areas.

  2. Collection

We request any missing or outdated SDSs from your suppliers and follow up until they arrive.

  3. Check

Each SDS is checked against WHMIS and your province's workplace rules. Gaps are listed with the fix.

  4. Delivery

You get access to your online library in the client portal, plus the indexed binder, the poster and the label templates.

  5. Upkeep

Optional: new products, supplier updates and 3-year checks handled for you, with a yearly status report.

Questions

SDS library management: common questions

Do you need to visit our site?

No. Photos of product labels, purchase records or a short phone video of your storage areas are enough to build the inventory.

Who can see our library?

Only the email addresses you approve. Your library is in the Hazline client portal, where each person signs in with a one-time code sent to their email, so there are no passwords to share, and other companies cannot see it.

Who owns the library?

You do. You can open and download every SDS and the index from the portal at any time, and if you stop the service we send you the complete set of files.

Do safety data sheets expire?

Suppliers have no fixed expiry date under the federal rules, but several jurisdictions require employers to seek an updated SDS once it is three years old: British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, Yukon, the Northwest Territories, Nunavut and federally regulated workplaces. Everywhere, an SDS must be updated when significant new information becomes available.

What if a supplier will not send an SDS?

We follow up on your behalf and list any product still without one, with the options. In some provinces, Ontario for example, an employer who cannot obtain an SDS after reasonable efforts must tell the regulator in writing. We tell you when that applies.

Does this include WHMIS training?

Training is a separate service. Your library and labels are the best material for it, so we can run a session built around the products your team actually uses.
