Know which rules apply to each product, and get the paperwork right.

Finished cosmetics are covered by cosmetic rules rather than WHMIS, but the raw materials and bulk ingredients you buy and sell are not. We sort out which rules apply, then do the work.

Which rules apply

In Canada, products that are cosmetics under the Food and Drugs Act are excluded from the Hazardous Products Act. Raw materials and bulk ingredients are not, and need compliant SDSs.

Ingredient screening

Formulas are checked against Health Canada's Cosmetic Ingredient Hotlist of prohibited and restricted ingredients, and against the rules in your other markets.

Cosmetic notification

Health Canada must be notified of a cosmetic within 10 days after it is first sold in Canada. We prepare the information for the notification.

Raw-material SDSs

Supplier SDSs for your ingredients are reviewed, and SDSs are written for the ingredients and bulk products you sell to other businesses.

Reviewed and signed off by a specialist

Every SDS, label and finding is reviewed and signed off by a regulatory specialist who knows the rules in each market you sell into.

  • Checked against current rules
  • Sources recorded
  • One specialist from quote to delivery
