Corrosive, irritant or neither: classifications that match your formula and its pH.

Cleaning products are where pH and composition most often disagree with section 2. We check both, along with the line between consumer and workplace rules.

What we see most often.

pH and corrosivity

A pH of 2 or less, or 11.5 or more, points to a corrosive classification unless data such as acid or alkaline reserve show otherwise.

Consumer or workplace

In Canada, consumer chemical products fall under consumer product rules, while products sold for workplace use need WHMIS SDSs and labels. Many ranges have both.

Bilingual labels and SDSs

Products sold in Canada need English and French labels and SDSs, with the label matching section 2.

Your own workplace

Cleaning companies are employers too. Our SDS library service keeps the SDSs for every product your crews use complete and current.

Reviewed and signed off by a specialist

Every SDS, label and finding is reviewed and signed off by a regulatory specialist who knows the rules in each market you sell into.
